Junior Pre-season Coaching Options
25/08/2009
Pre-season Junior coaching
Many of you will have now finished commitments to your winter sports and your thoughts may be turning to preparation for the cricket season. There are a number of pre-season coaching options for Juniors from Grade 2 and up.

Ian Trott, our club Premier coach, is running a series of indoor, private, one-on-one sessions for players in Grade 5 and above. Those of you following the recent Ashes Series in England may have wondered if Jonathon Trott (who made 119 for England on his debut in the last game) is related to Ian. I can confirm that he is Ian’s son and his success is, no doubt, a tribute to the childhood coaching he has received from his father! N.B. Ian has had some email communication problems so, if you have tried to book previously but not heard back please email (or phone) again.

Dave Richardson is running a series of pre-season group clinics. These include a holiday program for Grades 2 to 4, a Hardball Transition program for players moving onto hard ball this season, Parent & Child Batting Clinics and a series of specialist skills clinic. (Fast bowling, spin bowling and Wicket keeping)

For specific details on ALL coaching programmes and registration information please go to Junior Cricket/Coaching Clinic in the Main Menu

Enroll early
A reminder that your earliest possible enrolment helps us to plan the season efficiently. On-line enrolments are now open for the 2009/10 cricket season. Please go to ENROLMENTS in the main menu. ... [ Read Article ]

09/10 JUNIOR enrolments open
4/08/2009
New Season
On-line enrolments are now open for the 2009/10 cricket season. Please go to ENROLMENT. You can either enroll on-line using a credit card or print out an enrolment form to post with a cheque.

While we understand that many of you are still focused on winter sports we appreciate your earliest possible enrolment to assist with team selection and administration.

All enrolments received after 18th Sept will be charged a late fee ($10), will not be guaranteed acceptance (with the exceptions of Grade 1 and EDCA Rep. subscriptions) and will have limited choice of team mates.

o Muster days for Grades 2 and 3 will be held in the week first week of Term 4 (details to be advised).
o Grading trials for Grades 6 and above will be notified by Grade Coordinators
o The first weekend’s play for cricket in the 2009/10 season is scheduled for 31st Oct. (first Saturday after Labour weekend). Under 15 play may start Oct 17th (to be confirmed)
o For Grades 5 and below please enter team mate preferences in the space provided in the enrolment form. Our Grade Coordinators make every effort to meet these requests within the Club’s team selection policy but can make no guarantees.
o For more detailed information by grade (including Grade Coordinator’s contact details) please visit our website www.parnellcricket.co.nz

Pre-season Coaching
For those of you wishing to re-polish your cricket skills before the start of the season our Club Premier Coach, Ian Trott, is offering private, indoor lessons from late September suitable for hard ball players. Please visit JUNIOR CRICKET/COACHING CLINICS for specific details.
Further pre-season coaching options will be advised as they become available.

Indoor Nets
Parnell Cricket Club has now received Resource Consent approval for construction of an Indoor Facility for nets at our Shore Road clubrooms. This facility will greatly enhance the ability of the Club to deliver top coaching and practice facilities to our members.
o The Club has employed a project manager for the design services
o The Club has set up a fundraising committee and has employed a Fundraising manager
o The construction programme will be dictated by funds but we hope for construction to be complete by (sometime before) the end of 2010/11 season.

ALL 'DONATIONS TO FACILITIES' MADE WITH ENROLMENT WILL BE ALLOCATED SPECIFICALLY TO THIS PROJECT UNTIL SUCH TIME AS IT IS COMPLETED.

Club Staffing
Steve Hurdley (parnellcc@xtra.co.nz) continues as the Club Manager and Sarah Fyfe (sarah@acg.co.nz) is employed as Enrolments Administrator from now until the start of the season.

We look forward to catching up with many of you again this season and hope the weather clears soon to allow us all to enjoy the remainder of the winter sports season. ... [ Read Article ]
