General Information

Boys Grade 9/10

Eligibility for this grade will be based on the player's school year in the year in which the season starts, i.e. for the 2013-14 season, players must be in either Year 9 or Year 10 at school in 2013.

This grade will also comprise two half seasons with entries called for again in January.

Boys that decide not to play club cricket but wish to be considered for representative teams for Eastern District Cricket Association (EDCA) must enrol as an EDCA Affiliate member.

Boys Under 18 (as at 1 September)

Parnell Cricket Club will only be able to enter a team in the ACA Under 18 competition if enrolment numbers in this age group are sufficient.  Otherwise boys in the age wishing to play club cricket are encouraged to join the Senior Section of the Club.  The pool of senior teams can provide the ideal path for boys seeking to be considered for premier teams at a later date as well as for boys looking for a social team environment.  If you wish to know more please contact the Seniors Club Manager, Phil Horne at bwphilhorne@gmail.com

Boys under 17 as at 1 September wishing to be considered for EDCA representative teams must enrol as an EDCA Affiliate member in the Junior Enrolment section (unless they enrol for a senior team).  They will be notified regarding trial dates, etc.

Season Dates:

The 2013-14 junior season starts on Saturday 2nd November, 2013 and will end on Saturday 29th March, 2014. The last game before Christmas is on Saturday 14th December, with games re starting on Saturday 1st February, 2014, with no game the following week, Saturday 8th February, 2014 (Due to Waitangi Weekend). Saturday games generally start at 8.30am (8.15 arrival). Grading trials (if required) will be held late in Term 3 or early in Term 4. Grade Coordinators will advise all enrolled members of details. Saturday afternoon games generally start at 1.45 pm during term time.

Grounds:

The ACA cricket competition involves teams from the Greater Auckland area including North Harbour and games are played at venues throughout the region. Details of all venues can be found under GROUND MAPS in the main menu.

Uniform:

Players should wear the Parnell Cricket Club polo shirt and white long pants (available from Cricket Express, 29 Enfield Street, Mt Eden - see LINKS on the website for further details).  A sunhat is essential and PCC caps and hats are also available at Cricket Express.

For hardball cricket we strongly recommend that players wear a cricket helmet when batting and suggest that they acquire their own helmet to ensure best fit.  While many players in these grades have some of their own playing equipment all teams are supplied with enough equipment to cater for players without their own gear.
