Players Sports Winter Academies 2024

In a strong desire for the Parnell Cricket Club (PCC) to continue to inspire their youth and developing cricketers of tomorrow, the Peaches Winter Academy program is in planning for the 2024 winter mths. The primary focus is on skills development via a pathway program that will enable our junior and youth cricketers to be the best they can be.

The outcome is to prepare our aspiring cricketers for the various stages of their intermediate and college years and ultimately into senior cricket assisting in developing a lifelong love of cricket within the PCC club and being the club of choice for this age of cricketer within Auckland.

Purpose

To provide the most appropriate environments and program to develop and support our school age cricketers allowing them to achieve the goals of reaching the appropriate age group team right into senior cricket.  Allowing them to be “the best they can be”.

In order to identify, nurture and develop our school age cricketers. The club has created a pathway program which identifies these groups into specific age groups then will undertake a skill based winter academy program.

The programme will include eight skill sessions led by Ian West and assisted by our excellent Parnell CC coaching staff with the preference to operate with existing contracted PCC coaches (Keerthi and Callum), we will also have the ability to run specific skills sessions utilising our key coaches.

The program will culminate with the groups playing pre-season matches prior to the commencement of the new season and the future peaches joining the premier squad in some pre-season trainings and matches.
